Nah, Carra's not a good defender, really. He's getting past it now and relys to much on a punt it game without a midfielder like Alonso to come collect. Ah well. In carra we trust and all that.

You mean 'in Raffa we trust'? :S Anyway yeah, Heskey has always been one of my favourite players but every time I see him play nowadays I kind of feel awkward and sorry for him. He does slip almost every time he gets the ball and he can't really finish. I'm surprised he's even in the squad if not on the bench. Still, he's probably one of the nicest people you'll find in the game.

As for carragher he's always just hit it up field, he is not really a footballer he is just good at defending.

Wes Brown? Lescott can fill in their? Richards? Gary Neville (I know, I know, but he knows the game) - we have multiple choices for every position, and most of the players being under the age of 30 is always good.

Richards would be our best bet aside from Johnson.

I think Johnson is our best option and I think he's quality anyway. I'd rather have Brown over Richards though, genuinely. Richards has never had the form he had when he burst onto the scene.

Also beat Germany at Euro 2008, who went on to the final. Were also seconds away from the semi-finals.

But I do agree they are rather overrated.
