    Crap... does this mean that my draft N hardware is now obsolete? E.g Router, USB dongles, add-in cards? Or is the technology still basically the same - just official?

    As far as I can tell it's basically the same, but just official. Most existing hardware should be fine.

    My laptop uses N, but my router is still on b/g, time for an upgrade?
