    What is about:blank and how can I stop it? I've googled it but it says its a hijack trying to change my homepage but my homepage is fine its just when I open php files it says about:blank

    about:blank is a default completely blank page. you can't open php files directly with a web browser, you need some software to host it such as xampp or wampserver.

    I know I have XAMP but normally when I opened it, it would try and save it and if you canceled it would then show the link in address bar so Then i could change to localhost
