The who are not punk, and I dont know why you would even think that.
Just because punk has changed, does not mean it is dead.

Most of the new fans havn't even heard past their American Idiot album and they don't even know they have other albums. And by next year the new 'crowds' will find another band to obsess about and Green Day will be old news.
Yep, I heard one person even say to me "Have you heard that awesome new band Green Day with their album American Idiot, it rocks?!" No, no, no. They are not new (I believe they formed in 1989, thats 16 years in which they've been around) and have made 9 albums. Silly teenybopper, he got told. :p
And as for people who don't like them because of their new-not-so-good stuff? I think they'd appreciate them more if they heard older songs. Look what publicity does

They formed in 1985. Under a different name, and not nearly expierinced enough to put out a CD. 89 was their first CD though.

They didn't have the drummer until 1989, which meant the actual formation of Green Day was then, I think? I could have the dates completely wrong, just from memory.

lol. I've also had one person go on about how she's going to a GD concert....of course the phrase "Billie Joe is hot!!!" was every other sentence. And then she insisted you have to wear green. WTH!? I told her: "Um..no..you don't..do you even know wth Green Day stands for? Cuz it doesn't mean the colour" Oh and I was gonna warn her not to say: "OH MY GOD BILLIE JOE YOU ARE SO HOT" but I decided to let the other fans beat the **** out of her. I wonder if she was in the pit...hmm..

Yeh, to people who say billie joe is hot-
Would he still be hot if he wasent famous? :p It is a bunch of poo. Everyone who thinks their new stuff is better is either lying and they have never heard their old stuff, or know nothing about music.

    ^^ Yup.
Billie Joe isn't even that great tbh. Plus, people should be appreciating the music and talent, not just what the singers look like! Also in My Chemical Romance "I LOVE Gerad Way so much! Don't like the bad that much though." Hmm.. Someone fill me in? I'm not saying everyone who likes him is like this though. :p
