    Default Hey, abroad charges

Yeah, just wondered if you could answer this question for me, my mate's on holiday atm somewhere foreign, i dunno. Just wondered how much it'd cost for me to text her if I'm in England and she's in a foreign country but we both have UK phones and numbers? Sorry if this is the wrong section but I couldn't find a place better suited.

Probably better suited to discuss anything but oh well. If your friend is in Europe it shouldn't cost much, but if they're somewhere else it should cost a bit more. O2 charge 11p for texts to anywhere in Europe, and 40p for the rest of the world. I assume its roughly the same for all networks. It costs to received a text or call if you're in a different country though, so your friend will have to have a bit of credit in order for them to receive the text. When I was in France a couple of months ago I think it cost around 30p to receive texts.

Alright cheers pal. I'm on an O2 contract though so will I have to pay extra or will it just take extra texts off me or something?

The prices are roughly the same. If you go over your limit I assume you'll just have to pay more but I'm not too familiar with contracts so don't hold me to it. Theres more info here.
