If a moderator is offended by a comment, whether it be because of their nationality or otherwise, then by definition it is an offensive comment and thus against the rules.
Saying they should go home is racist. Period.
The post box thing is borderline, could cause offence.

Racism is attacking a race. Saying "they should go back home" has no qualities of a race so therefore not racist. Racism would literally be diving into attacking the qualities and attributes of a race, belief or religion - neither of which were attacked in that thread. Mint has the belief that Burkas are wrong and insensitive towards women - the attack was with the idea that Islam are sexist towards women, rather than an attack on Islam in general.
And when you think about it, walking round a corner and seeing a woman in a burka would be a bit shocking, it's one of those things that is not programmed into your mind to predict round a corner, walking on two legs - you expect someone or something with the same appearance as you with unique yet recognisable features, which a burka is naturally designed to hide, therefore a shock when a woman wearing one magically appears round a corner.
So it's a natural effect caused by walking round a corner really. If it was an elderly woman you'd have the initial shock of "Oh, didn't see you there" then the calm once you've recoginised the unique qualities of that woman and the "Don't worry deary" comment in return. Acknowledgement calms the shock, and again with a burka, acknowledgement is hidden other than the eyes and voice, which to some can be quite shocking because you expect facial expressions and body language to play a part, like tipping of the head or a smile.
Isn'tHe just made the comment "They should go home", a comment that neither attacks the person or the country. "Go home" is a comment which targets individuals who attack the country they are in which has conflicting ideas, so it's not racist at all, as racism attacks the race, not the individual, because alot of muslims don't agree with the burka. His argument is purely on the individuals, not the race, therefore NOT racism (considering the rac(e) bit in rac-ism is the give away
) Besides, in some countries which have Islam as their main religion, they don't wear the burka over there, but for some reason some do when they come over here, which has many crude implications on western culture and women, even though western cultures were the first to bring in women's rights.

Oh.
Clearly but as has been pointed out previously, for a majority "home" is here so it's a baseless and thoughtless comment. You don't have to come from another country to have different beliefs
there is no mention of the burka in the koran..so therefor it is not a relegious belief that "makes" women wear them .It is the fact that the male rerquests that no part of the female should be on view except the eyes..therefore demeaning the female into being subservant ...and befor you ask i'm english .white and male
Exactly, it was an ignorant and thoughtless comment, but not racist in any way, as he wasn't judging all muslims or people of a particular race, he was merely (as I could see at least) judging Islamic sexism or sexism in these particular countries - a reasonable judgement which has sparked many debates in the past, some quite serious too![]()
