Hey,
Well i've been running OSX for a few days now from Windows 7 and heres my feedback (Hope someone can help me out on a few points as well):
- You can't tell the difference between two finder windows open with the same folder name. I quite often have two windows open with the same folder name, especially when transferring stuff from my home server to my local apache for testing
- No lock screen functionality. Seems you have to enable password on screensaver and use a hot spot for a screensaver, seems a bit of a pain.
- Logging into file share on a windows server and putting files on them results in them having no ntfs file permissions except administrator and system, not even the user you logged into the share with has permissions.
- Adding write permissions for "all users" does not include "nobody" which apache runs as in xampp so I have to do chmod a+w <file name> every time I want to make a file writable by apache.
- You can control individual application's volumes, I really liked this feature in windows
- Pressing f12, f11, f10 or f9 in games results in the osx functionality of these keys being used rather than the function of the keys in the game.
- You can't use finder to FTP into servers that have a "@" in the username.
Apart from that, i'm loving OSX. While I can live with these issues would be nice if there is a way to fix them or something - Don't worry i'm not going to go back to Windows over them.
Thanks,
Tom
