Well that's not true, all the websites I've made in the past, I've never had to actually spend any money I own in real-life - depends who you know really.

I didn't say real life or any of that, your going to have to spend money to get a good fansite

1. Radio
2. Site layouts (if you buy em)
3. Forum (if you buy one (lots buy them))
4. Etc.

And I'm talking fansites, not "General websites"

So what do fansites fall under? Is it not a website?

1. Radio - Wow, again, if you know people, you can most likely get one for free.
2. Site layouts - Wow again, if you know people, you can most likely get one for free - or design one.
3. Form - Wow, again, if you know people, you can most likely get one for free - or use phpBB or any other software.
4. Etc - And the cost of that is..

@Starter Learn the logic of coding by doing PHP or w/e and you will pick other languages up easier and be worth more. Ruby & the Ruby on rails framework are good to learn and make you very employable.

I'm trying to fully understand ZF atm and once I do I'm going to try nail ruby on rails.

Start off with html then go to php imo
