Oh and simons record label and the record label that are with RATM are both run by sony, but simon cowel will not get any money from this. (glad some goes to charity)

I was all for RATM winning, not because it was the best song, far from it infact. but i to am sick of X factor winning rofl. but to be honest the facebook group that started it all could of picked a better song to try to get number 1 like dancing in the moonlight by toploaders.... maybe next year XD.

on the + side RATM are holding a free concert to say thanks, so thats cool.

The public control the charts to the most extent, apart from the labels who buy their own single, so obviously it's the public who choose the christmas no.1 so no reason to be sick of xfactor winning it as it is our fault? surely?

Might be just me but I think I've noticed many shows are avoiding paying it. For example, there was a TOTP Christmas Special on earlier which I thought would include the top 10 or whatever but the synopsis for it said something like; 'a collection of festive tunes' even though they did play some past Christmas #1s that are not festive (and although the voice-over guy was ripping the piss out of the X-Factor). Likewise, C4's Christmas Top 40 had a synopsis like; 'our pick of the best songs this Christmas' or something similar, meaning they could easily avoid playing something if they wanted to (although I didn't watch this show).

I'm just guessing most of the TV/radio shows which are used to playing your regular pop music will probably try to steer away from airing such a "controversial" song, if you like.
