I don't like the EU, but I don't like it being brought up in every thread either. I'm afraid the EU does not need to be brought into everything, pick up any newspaper (Excluding the Daily Mail) and you'll see that they don't bring the EU into it. You indirectly link the EU to everything and it simply doesn't need to be done.

Even in the Chinese Execution thread which someone got an EU debate going, I managed to make a reply without mentioning the EU. You quote it and begin talking about the EU. I understand you didn't bring it up originally, but once the EU had died down in the discussion you bring it back, all your references and example are some how something to do with the EU.

I could create a thread on how some Chavs burnt a teddy bear and soon enough we would be debating why Gordon Brown didn't allow us a referendum on the EU.

We were talking about referendums, you went directly on to referendums so I used the example of how the Minister for Europe Caroline Flint did not read a treaty yet told us, the public, that we did not understand it despite the fact she hadn't read it herself.

There are no other examples of which I can point to when debating the need for a referendum on an issue, because Europe is the only topic which the main parties have ever said they would hold a referendum over, and by using that point and the example of how we were lied to - I showed how a referendum on the death penalty would be just and fair, and would represent what the people think on the issue of crime, punishment and justice.

All I know is Gordon Brown for GM...

Edit: Seriously though please dont turn this into a thread about politics. This is seriously here to help improve habbox, and no matter what you say to justify politcal posts, its just not welcome and not needed. No offense, but keep it where its at least relatable.

You posted about referendums first, not me. If you preach then myself and other members are forced to retaliate which is totally legitimate. It's the people bringing the things up who are causing the problems.

And that's just one example of how all your examples some how include the EU, there is more but I suspect this thread is going to turn into another debate between the forum and yourself, which is precisely what this thread is about so it's probably best we stop

I agree, but when people are going to talk behind someones back (with 2 pages full of it) i'll reply, below is all I have left to say anyway.

..and then I replied with evidence about how politicians have ignored what people wanted in the past, as you said, in retaliation to your post. That is how a debate works.
