I think it's a real shame. No matter their motive, the footballers and those travelling with the team are innocent and shouldn't be involved in their civil conflict. Horrible to think somebody died for doing their job.

people have died in la liga, the confederations cup, they don't cancel tournaments and leagues because of it. they just dedicate stuff to them.

A few years ago I think during the cricket world cup, pakistan's coach was murdered and that was fueled by money so It maybe sort of the same thing but correct me if i'm wrong.
