Just thought i'd provide you with a few copies of newer PMs, these are very similar PMs but they are simply just so you get the picture:

    Hey

    Welcome to Habbox Forum
I don't know if you've had chance yet but I'd reccommend that you read our Forum Rules.

It looks like your avatar could be an image of yourself, this is not allowed at Habbox Forum.

Please could you remove this, or I will have to take further action.

If you have any questions, you can always PM me or another member of the moderation team.

    Thanks

    Hey *REMOVED*

    Welcome to the forum

It appears that your avatar is a picture of your person.

This is not allowed at Habbox Forum, it is only allowed to post pictures of yourself in specified threads (which I believe you've already found )

Please could you remove this ASAP to avoid me having to take further action.

Could I also advise that you take two minutes to read the Forum Rules which can be found here

Any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch.

    Thanks

What improvement are people after here? Do members really need to be told that they're loved and cherished when being educated? Make it too popped up on happy pills and it looks patronising and childish

Childish for a forum aimed at children? Bravo.

It would appear childish on the part of the staff (didn't think I'd have to actually point that out), which undermines professionalism. I've been put off plenty of forums in my time because of moderation coming across as immature and poorly co-ordinated.

Fairly sure 12 year olds don't need to be consoled with sweet nothings when you're letting them know what the deal is. As long as they're told that they aren't actually being punished (which does happen and always has to my knowledge with these PMs) and are assured that they're here to help (which also happens, see above) then there shouldn't be a problem.

We have a very different idea of what moderators do to undermine professionalism (see sexist threads):S

And that's about the only negative thing I can say about the moderators here, so I stand by most of their decisions. Of course they need to hold new member's hands a little bit, and show them the ropes. If you've been at many other forum communities you should know that entering the community for the first time can be very intimidating, and it's very easy to overlook certain forum rules when they're all being thrown at you at once. It's like driving a vehicle for the first time. I guarantee you broke the law by doing something wrong. You didn't get prosecuted though, because you're new; you're learning.

How is by adding a single line telling users if they want help then to PM the moderator, childish? It isn't, not even remotely. That's a ridiculous suggestion. So you're saying that an entire industry is childish. Customer support is there to help people, is it patronising  When I see a help guide come with electronics I buy, I feel so god damn patronised, how dare they treat me like a child and assume I won't know everything about a new purchase.

It's the same idea. Giving new members a contact point if they want to use it is beneficial to them. By offering them help isn't consoling them - it appears you haven't quite grasped the thread or at least read through the posts anyway and just making depleted statements.

Well that isn't what I've said at all. I did in fact say in my 2nd paragraph that being told the mods are available to help is a good - indeed, necessary - part of such PMs. Not sure where you're getting this from.

Again, I said that; dunno why you think otherwise. I asked what more people (ie: "Blob" who said it still needs improving) wanted and now you're attacking a point that wasn't even made.
