Green Day - What type of music are they?

Billie Joe isn't even that great tbh. Plus, people should be appreciating the music and talent, not just what the singers look like! Also in My Chemical Romance "I LOVE Gerad Way so much! Don't like the bad that much though." Hmm.. Someone fill me in? I'm not saying everyone who likes him is like this though. :p

yeah exactly its all about the music music MUSIC! I mean, I agree that Billie Joe is hot but I just don't like people mentioning it in every other sentence. Would it matter if he were a *****r? No! To tell you the truth, they were all pretty much *****rs when I first got into Green Day.

And EMO is "emotional" It can be in other genres but most times its a type of rock. It that whining "my life is aweful I want to die" music, like simple plan.

Whoa Whoa Whoa!!! GD have attracted a load of teenie boppers for fans (which I don't think they even relise) and American Idiot isn't as good as the past albums but why are we bringing MCR into this? Emo kicks butt - as for simple plan aren't so good. Where was I going? Erm........oh yeah, GD, they were alternative/punk but now the album is just punk/pop. And yes Mike is hot (you reading this will be thinking URGH!) but I don't just listen to Green Day for him. And can I just point out that Green Day is slang for a day spent on wacked up on dope (or grass or watever).

Yes, and most mainstream punk = pop-punk.

Don't get me wrong there are some good pop-punk bands. Like Blink 182 and Sum 41 and Fall Out Boy. But bands such as Good Charrlotte and Simple Plan are just pitifull. They are huge posers. For exampe: In one pic of GC one dude had the big liberty spikes. That just doenst work for them..
