Default Adding wireless card to desktop

I have a dell inspiron 1501, it has a dell wireless card.

I was thinking whether it would be possible to remove the wireless card out of the laptop and put it into a compaq presario desktop.

The reason I want to do this is, the desktop works fine however does not have wireless. Whereas the laptop has a broken lcd screen, internal fan is broken and therefore all I need the desktop to have is wireless to avoid wires running through the house.

I have a new laptop on its way so this ones going to be scrapped.
    Cheers.

In response to your question: It is not possible. Desktop and laptop "cards" are completely different. Kind regards.
