    I'm really worried I've knackered the battery on it already had it since Xmas never seems to last three hours on apps , anyway to test it?

    It seEms fine to me. Try some google searches to find the average time. Running apps is very intensive process wise and so uses a lot more battery than standby or music.

    I'm assuming since you mentioned Apps, we're talking about an iPod touch

    If things get really bad, there are plug-in battery charger things, but I can't find links at the moment.

    to save battery turn down the brightness

    Yeah, turn down the brightness, I can't see much of a noticable brightness difference when I do it, and it almost doubled my battery life.

    thats the only down side to it really is battery life.

    Depends what apps you're using, if it is battery intensive, high graphics games then thats gonna gulp the battery like no tomorrow, 3 hours seems about right.

    To save battery:

    -Turn down brightness
    -Turn off Push Notifications
    -Turn off Wi-Fi (unless you need it of course...)
    -Turn off Fetch
    -Turn off Equaliser and Sound Check under the settings for Music
    -Turn off auto-brightness
