I think maybe the rule should be updated to avoid confusion for the members as to what they can or can't do.

    Old Rule:
A2. Don't avoid the forum filter - This includes using punctuation to separate letters or to manually replace letters with asterisks (e.g. F***ing or LM*AO]. The only exception to this is when posting an outside link such as a video or image when mild swearing is allowed it must be a link or in a spoiler with a suitable warning in bold please. IT MUST NOT BE POSTED DIRECTLY ONTO THE FORUM and must have a warning in bold above it e.g. Warning - this spoiler/link contains strong language/swearing that may offend some members.

    Suggested amendments in red:

A2. Don't avoid the forum filter - This includes using punctuation to separate letters or to manually replace letters with asterisks (e.g. F***ing or ****ing). There are three exceptions to this rule which are LMFAO, FML & OMFG which are allowed. The only other exception to this is when posting an outside link such as a video or image when mild swearing is allowed it must be a link or in a spoiler with a suitable warning in bold please. Those have already been authorised - I was just suggesting a way of making it clearer. I can't really comment on whether it should be added. =]

Feedback like this is precisely why I was against unfiltering any of the abbreviations when it was suggested and then for some reason actually carried out. It just snowballs until you have no justification for what is and isn't filtered.

What a crap excuse, when ever anyone says OMFG the F bit leaps up on you like a woman full of heat. Someone is saying porkies to save their bacon here

Not a good idea at all. If it's not in the filter, it doesn't need to be in the rule list, as the point of rules is to suggest and advise people on things which are not allowed, and since OMFG, LMFAO and FML are allowed, adding them to the rules would be yet another reason to have the rules downgraded. Speaking of which, where are these new rules?

Filtering abbreviations is pointless. A mass over-haul of all abbreviations should of been done, not pansy footing around the filter picking out the ones that have no reason to be in there. Abbreviations are not swear words. Abbreviations may contain swear words, but they're used as substitutions to common phrases and feelings. OMFG could be "Oh my flipping God", as it is wrong to assume a single letter is a swear word when a substitute could be chucked in anyway, especially when the rules clearly state rudeness is not allowed, and seeing as abbreviations are common in every day life for teenagers and people around this age mark, it would be stupid for Habbox taking the school route by attempting to block out common communication, when people are just going to use them anyway, especially when abbreviations are easy to create and abuse. FOM is one of them Let Habbox speak formally, but don't dare to have your fanbase speak formally too, because nature and common modern etiquette is compeltely different.

Why don't you filter CBF then? Saves hassle.

I've never heard anyone say that abbreviation on or offline. Let's be honest, if this was unfiltered/allowed, we would see feedback threads emerging every week by certain people trying to push the boundaries further and further. The fact of the matter is, they probably don't actually care about what's allowed but would just like to kick up a fuss regardless with any excuse they get.
