What's the difference between 'seeing & dating' someone, rather than actually saying like "yeah she's my girlfriend" & 'going out'?

    thx ;l

Going out and dating are the same thing :S aren't they? Because when you ask someone out, you ask them on a date I think. But sometimes it never gets past the first date

i put this in spam because i have a habit of going ot. sorry

see i thought that too but this guy i'm 'seeing' doesn't see it as actually being in a relationship and i don't get the difference, since we act the same way as if we WERE actually going out. ah confusing.

i think seeing someone is like the first few dates when you are kinda getting to know eachother more as a "relationship" rather than whatever you were before.

I think I would ask him why he sees it this way because it could be he doesn't believe in exclusive relationships so if he says this he is able to 'play the field' which is okay if you feel the same. =]

I think it's like whether your tied down, if I understand what you're trying to say.

Like just seeing someone your not actually comitted and expected to put as much effort in maybe?

Ha, I always used to think the exact same during school years when it always seemed like people only announced that they were "going out" for status more than anything else. I guess 'seeing' is just a sort of unofficial way to describe the time you spend together before you actually decide to be together more officially.

From what i gathered, seeing = sleeping around with someone, and dating is when you are in a relationship.
