Plagerism On Habbox news

Well I decided to google st george to sumbit for the competition , and fount out that the habbox news article had copyied quite a few sentences from the site - http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.../stgeorge.html

You do realise some of the sentences there have been used by MSN and Facebook so I doubt Habbox actually wrote this or even care for this matter.

I doubt it matters but if you really want to complain, I suggest sending a private message to the News Manager, Bolt660. Or try posting in the Complaints / Habbox Feedback forum . You will get better responses there.

Whilst I can see your point that bits of my article are similar to that site- they are innevitably just the basic facts about this event.

Plagiarism is taken very seriously in our department, and no large chunks of text will be copied knowingly from another source. We write our articles in our own words, and it is inevitable that some facts/figures may be represented in the same way as other sites.

There are only so many ways you can present facts, and you will find that many, many articles from all over the web would feature similar facts when talking about real life events such as this.


For once, I attempted something new and wanted to provide something a bit different for everyone. I was up late last night writing that up, and I can't really find much content in there which has been directly copied other than facts and figures. There are Habbox/Habbo/Forum references, and the overall tone of the article is my own I feel. I actually enjoyed the topic, and it's something which I felt could be a nice topical piece.


I'm very sorry that I've managed to upset you and in future I will make sure to think up my own facts.

I shall be checking most suspicious articles via turnitin.com and if there are any problematic or dodgy sentences, or whole prhases (or indeed id the article is more than 12% plaugerised from a source) then it will be dealt with in feedback etc. I personally don't take it lightly, the power of lunguistics is great and setences can be fully re-written.

Anyway, it was a good article and this wasn't a major problem in it. If you do find someone plaugerised then feel free to PM myself, Bolt660 or if it's a management member Sammeth. and they'll be dealt with.
