    Very very true.

    Format, I don't see why you can't format the partition... make sure you boot from the Windows CD and don't run it from Windows it self.

    Before you do anything why not try windows defender? I had a virus which mcAfee couldn't find, but I downloaded windows defender for free and it found it upon scanning.
    Might be worth a try

    I wouldn't bother trying to remove keyloggers, just format.

    get nod 32, and use your imagination to get a free username and password.
    keyloggers are amazing programs when in the right hands, not just some script kiddie looking for some habbo furni.

    Basically;

    Runtime - Its crypted so when its run it is not detected by anti-virus.
    Scantime - When its scanned it is not detected by anti-virus.

    If im right it was scantime or neither as it came up when you launched it. AVG automatically deletes the virus and does not let it in although a warning pops up. You are safe so don't worry. Only download files you know are trusted as I could easily crypt a virus scantime and runtime and you would have no idea its a virus as its FUD (Fully Undetectable).

    Hope this helped.

    From looking at what happened, I personally would not bother reformatting.
