So just one ep has been cancelled? I've never quite understood the issue of soaps dealing with tragic themes which happen to be in the news, especially when it's pure coincidence. I imagine it might not be the best thing in the world for those directly affected by the real life events, fair enough but it's a minority relatively, not like a global disaster. Not intending to sound insensitive here

No a whole storyline that included two deaths, which I imagine effected next weeks epsiodes aswell, so its quite substancial.

Wasn't on yesterday either... it was good to show respect on the day of the killings, but people aren't going to forget about the killings in a week, or even months and they can't leave it that long.

tbh its not really offensive imo, or the offense doesn't change at any time so they're only hurting themselves.

Although I hardly watch Corrie (I only watch it for the good episodes e.g. the Tony storyline this week) I think this was a very stupid decision. I know they're doing it for respect and that but plenty of people get shot everyday, so why don't they postpone it in respect for them people? And i'm sure if someone in my family got shot, i'll relax to a nice episode of Coronation Street..

But I suppose it's their choice, they're losing out at the end of the day I guess. But yeah, this weeks storyline was kinda good.
