lol you tune in at the wrong times then, I tune in every now and again and I hear no-one singing! Although talking over songs, I do hear that sometimes. doesn't really bother me tbh cos its not something im focused on, its just on in the background, which means these sort of things just go straight over my head.

I'd admit I used to do it when I was like 14 LOOL years ago. Nowadays I know how unprofessional it is and I know there are a couple of DJs who love to do it, there has never really been a rule about this I don't think, as you could argue all those singing compilations should not be played.

But if your argument is that it is being abused by someone you could easily PM a complaint about the specific DJ to radio management.

Although I do see your point mate as it annoys me too, you don't see people singing on radio nowadays because it will cause ear pain.

To add to the point that a 10 to 20 second singing clip is alright of a DJ and is sometimes funny, but if it goes beyond it just becomes annoying.

If DJs want to sing let them sing? Some listeners want the DJs to sing on air. Fair enough if you don't want then to sing throughout the show that's different, but a little bit of singing isn't going to do any harm.

think about the target audience, the target audience is 11-16 y.os mainly, and that is something a 11-13 y.o would find amusing and entertaining.

Sometimes when I listen and hear it I want to kill the DJ. Especially if it's really bad, I think if it is only once in say a couple of shows as in not every show it's ok. If it is done constantly then I do agree it is really annoying. If you hear any DJ doing it a lot, feel free to send Jess, Gemma and myself a PM and we will talk to the DJ.

About the talking over songs, if it's again done all the time we will PM them as it is really annoying as the songs were requested by the listeners so quite rude just to talk over them all. I don't think it's a big problem though after someones been told not to do it normally they don't do it again!

The word as used by Richie is one of the many definitions of it which is used today e.g. stupid. The word is in the filter and he didn't avoid it i.e. ******ed. He said that the singing sounded stupid not that the dj was. If he had called the dj a ****** then it would have been completely different as that is plainly rude. The word is in the filter as the word can be used to describe a mentally disabled person which society regards as very offensive. I have left the word as we are a little more lenient in Feedback where the filter is involved as otherwise members find it hard to explain their opinions in respect of it.

I think tbh a DJ pre-recording themselves signing on air is fine but if they are singing over a listeners request it can get a little irritating.

Talking over a song is okay in moderation. As long as they aren't doing it over EVERY song and it is something really important and they don't talk over the whole song, I think it's alright.
