Real life Pokémon (idea/joke)

My friend was all excited the other day about this dream she had which gave her an awesome idea for a movie - Pokémon in a similar style to Avatar but aimed at our generation (those of us who were around when Pokémon first took off and have since grown up but still miss it ).

Sounded like an awesome idea but just before she showed me something that she came across since which pretty much burst her bubble because it seems like somebody already thought of it. Well, someone did write about it here; http://pokedream.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14283 but you'll realise the funny side to this story if you read the first response to the thread in that link and then check the time stamp on the original post. Turns out somebody (threat starter in link) did think of pretty much the same idea BUT it was only for an April Fools joke!

I still think it's a great idea for a film though and I know plenty of people who would definitely agree. Wouldn't have posted it only that it's already out there anyway as you can see. So waddaya think?

Personally I'd love to see realistic versions of Pokémon - similar to the sketch of the Bulbasaur in that thread

I wish Pokemon was real, but a movie wouldn't work. If you made the Pokemon realistic it wouldn't be Pokemon anymore.

When I first heard the idea I thought about those dragon things they ride in Avatar, just think of something similar to that and you have a Charizard!

A realistic version of Charizard could work. I can also see the bird Pokemon working, but Pokemon like Electabuzz and Pikachu might not look so good.

They should just make a movie about Diglett though.



Also, a realistic version of Kabutops would be amazing.

Pokemon wouldn't work if they were all realistic though because some of them would just look so damn scary it just wouldn't be believable if humans were catching them. If Groudon really existed it would just destroy the world. Ideally Pokemon trainers wouldn't exist because they would all be scared ****less.

bad idea, i really dont think it would work. Keeping the Pokemon the way it is, is best
