I am not saying Catzsy was wrong as last year moderation was entirely different, but such posts would not get dealt with now.

We use the "please leave moderating to the moderators" rule now when people are simply posting to be a pain and tell other members that they've posted in the wrong place etc - this can appear intimidating to some members especially if they are new and unfamiliar with the rules, we hire the moderators to sort out any problems around the forum - a member doesn't need telling they've done the wrong thing by a member too.

You cannot post a thread in spam simply advertising a site - if you are posting a link for another reason then it's fine, but blatent advertisements are not.

I really don't see what the issue is, this rule has been around for years.

because technically that's advertising youtube as your telling people to on their site and thus the site gets more traffic or w.e

This rule has been in place for a long time. Basically: If you want to advertise your own website then do it in the correct forum. If you are linking to websites about something such as BBC News or whatever then it isn't an issue.

Because it was about the user who posted the thread and he wanted to show us, Misawa is disliked by most people (no offence to him ) but this thread just proves that people thought what he posted was ok.

People clearly can't crack the fact that nothing's changed, it's been the same a very long time.

You are allowed to refer to websites so long as linking the website has a purpose other than blatently trying to get traffic onto their site.

    I.e.

LOL look at the images on this page, they are so funny http://funnyimageshere.com/funnyimages2.html"
This is allowed, as it always has been and the way people post on a daily basis like this, links to news articles etc etc etc

threads posted with the sole intention of advertising sites, simply LOOK AT THIS WEBSITE: WWW.MYSITE.COM etc are not allowed.

Misawa, was clearly trying to advertise some radio interview he was part of - which he can do, in the correct forum.
