    Ok, let's make this clear.

This RULE has been here for over two years. The rule does not need changing, advertising your own website for your own benefit such as "TUNE INTO WWW.YOURDOMAIN.COM AT 9PM" is NOT allowed in spam. If you wish to advertise your website for whatever reason or a website you may work on then there is a correct section for that.

If you are posting links to websites such as: Youtube, Wikipedia, BBC and so on. That is not really advertising for your own benefit, there would be reasons behind that. Such as "Lmao at this video www.youtube.com/blahblahblah.

It has been like this for donkeys like it has been mentioned time and time again.

    End Of.

Doesn't have to be your website remember Matt - see above example.

    I agree with this.
I think that spam should be treated as just that; spam. Not intended for serious discussion, just a chilling out forum. I think only the basic rules should apply in there (e.g. do not offend other members).

if he was on the radio at that precise second, spam is much like a shoutbox and most people read spam rather than specified forums, so it'd get instant people listening?

    god knows

    *leaving thread now, quite bored*

Thus using spam for advertising which has been against the rules here since the beginning.

As Matt has stated this rule has been how it is for ages. We simply will not allow spam used for advertisments, whilst we are more lax on the rules in spam, it should be for general chit-chat and not somewhere to go spam your advertisements to get more hits on your site/radio show etc.

Although rather blunt, Matt hits the nail on the head when he says "end of" at the end of his explanation, which clearly shows what is allowed and what isn't.

@ Graham - in my opinion, HabboxLive DJ's shouldn't be using spam to advertise either - they have a community noticeboard forum for that
