but that uncounted goal could technically mean alot more things, it could mean the ref was showing favouritism as there could be points (if you were to look back) where we should have got some free kicks or something.

Omg 1 disallowed goal when the score was 4-1 means nothing. There was no favouritism. It was probably a bad angle or something or he was blind, but never favouritism.

I have two sides of my opinion.

The first is that this was a terrible performance and we didn't deserve to win. No English player stood out. Lampard and Gerrard played ok, as did Ashley Cole and James but everyone else was terrible. Germans played well and deserved to win.

Second side is that if it was 2-2, I am 99% sure the Germans would have cracked seeing as they only have 8 players over 25 in the team, and as soon as we scored the first, they paniced. On top of that, the other 2 goals came from counterattacks by Germany after England threw men forward to get a goal. If it was 2-2 we wouldn't have done that, and they wouldn't have been able to counterattack.

Overall, it was a fair result, although if you look at the stats we came out top for everything and if the goal counted it could have been a different story, but these things happen.

Time for the next generation to step up

We did terrible when it was 0-0 and that terrible playing meant they scored 2 goals before HT. Even after HT, the defence was crap, hence they scored two more - so even if the score was 2-2, with the terrible defence, they would have still easily have scored and won.

Captain Steven Gerrard admitted the disallowed goal had an effect but made no excuses for the heavy defeat.

"There were big key decisions in the game, at 2-1 we had a goal disallowed," he told BBC 5 Live. "At 2-1 we were hurting them and we were still in the game. I think it (the disallowed goal) had an effect but we cannot use that as an excuse with being beaten 4-1.

"That would have been a big goal for us. It's all ifs and buts. Germany are a fantastic team and they deserved their win. You go away and you have a think about what went wrong and why we didn't progress further in the tournament.

"As a team we've made a big mistake today and we've been beaten by a good team. They were more clinical in front of goal and they made less mistakes than us and we got punished for that."

You could say that they would have scored at 2-2 yes, but on the otherhand as I said above, they counterattacked for the other 2 goals. They wouldn't have been able to do that if it was 2-2. Also, I could see a few of there players cracking.

    Are you for real?
We played disgraceful. Regardless of weather any decision went our way in that game or not, we would still not have won even if the ref gave us every little thing we appealed for.

Ashley Cole played solid in the past 3 games but this game it kind of fell apart from him.
