Yeah, favourite episodes but with new scenes and additional dialogue. I would watch them but they aren't going to be subbed.

It never went on a complete hiatus, it's still airing. However, the episodes being broadcast are touched up versions of fan favourites from the series with new material here and there. For the re-broadcast of these fan favourite episodes they changed the name of the series to Yorinuki Gintama-san so no one would get confused and think the original series was still running. When the series does come back from its break it'll be called Gintama again, and no, the haitus is not over and probably won't be any time soon.

I likie the new opening and ending, dont think ill bother watching the reruns though, ill probably just listen to them generally.

You can't watch them anyway. Torrents only exist for the first two.

I haven't actually been able to get into a single anime series since Gintama ended. Its what fuelled my obsession.
