I have a blackout blind and curtains, but the curtains are more for decoration than anything else.

Both. Blinds are used all the time. I have the curtains for when there are lightning storms I hate 'em so would rather blank them out completely.

I have both, plus a sheet to put over at night cus i find it hard to sleep in til 1 with the light shining through my crappy curtains.
