Well they usually spawn in a radius AROUND you, and only in pure darkness (so if you've got torches next to you, nothing)., if they still aren't spawning then its like just a bug, remember, tis still in the alpha

hehe yeah, but after the night if u look in the distacne u shuld be able to see a few, unless you're on like an island

I went out onto the highest mountain last night, and couldn't see or hear anything around. It's constantly snowing by the way, does that change anything?

I was given a snow level on my first world. Gets a little annoying since theres a layer of ice and snow on everything, but other than that its mostly decorative - you can walk on the frozen water which is a plus.

You can make snowballs and stuff, but as far as mobs spawning it doesnt mean anything, could just be a bug in ur save file. Make a new game, wait for it to get to night and see if it still happens.

Notch should add changing weather or seasons because when you're stuck on a snow level it's so annoying.#

Also if you see a spider during the day, they don't attack unless you go right next to them or hit em

Ive had 5 saves, played lots on each of them and still havent even seen a glimpse of snow
