The Habbox Summer Spectacular 2010 - THE END!

For the fourth year running Habbox has successfully held the biggest event of the year - the Summer Spectacular! Unfortunately, after the fun and frolics the spectacular brings us for two weeks, it drew to a close on Sunday 29th August.

This year's spectacular saw 174 events held across the two weeks it ran, that's 174 hours of events and radio competitions held for you to take part in by our committed and dedicated team of Habbox Staff! This smashed last years new record of 140! As well as this, the Competitions Department held a number of competitions in which you could gain a massive amount of points for both you and your team.

The competition was fierce, and even the poor blue team who struggled to get any points at all in the beginning made an impressive come back! However, the winners of this year's HxSS are...

The Green Team!

Their unwavering dedication and persistence saw them smash the 10,000 point mark (which was a nightmare for us!) and win the Habbox Summer spectacular with an impressive 14,055 points. Congratulations to every member of the green team, who accumulated this gargantuan amount of points!

This years overall team standings are as follows:

3rd Place ~ Black Team ~ 6,125 Points



4th Place ~ Blue Team ~ 4,465 Points

Of course we all know that such a large event requires an awful lot of planning, coordination, effort and dedication on the part of a great many people. And so a thank you is in order for a great many people.

First, a massive thank you to Roxy916, xxMATTGxx and Alkaz for the initial planning of the event. Thanks also to them for their maintenance of the signature point keeping, without which we'd be left with no idea of who is winning what!

Thank you also to Oli, Nicola, Carlsta and Pyroka for keeping track of the individual scores - a feat I most certainly don't envy.

Thank you to HotelUser, for creating a script that meant the updating of points was quick and easy!

Thank you also to YOU, the members who attended the events, took part, and had lots of fun! You guys are the reason we run this and to see you enjoying it is the best reward for everyone involved.

Finally, the biggest and most heartfelt thank you of all goes to every individual who held an event, wrote a competition or contributed to the HxSS events in one form or another. It was their 170 hours (and probably more) of hard work that made sure HxSS worked this year and we had a bounty of events ready for people to attend.
