Default Filtering out the newsfeed on the main site

I've just finished reporting two posts that had like, nothing to do with the thread what so ever and just after i reported i realised they were in the spam section.. Then i realised i clicked the thread name on the main site, which i do most of the time. I know you want the forum to be active but i was just wondering, why don't you filter out certain parts of the forum off the newsfeed?

We can't really filter out spam threads from the new posts feed on the site. The new posts feed helps promote healthy discussion on the forum even if it is for instance in the spam section. Our aim is to make sure that the forum is as popular and as active as we can make it and removing certain sections from the feed won't really be promoting that in a good way and just in general it encourages more posts.

What Alkaz says is fundamentally correct, the idea of the function is to promote discussion threads posted on the forum and attract members from the site. However with the up and coming Habbox V6 I can't imagine it would be impossible for us to enable Habbox.com users to customise the Forum Posts widget so it only showed posts from certain forums - it is certainly something that could be discussed!

On another note, don't worry about reporting posts incorrectly. We'd rather you report them than not at all, just take a careful look in future but if you make a mistake you aren't going to be penalised for it - so no panic there.

Alright good stuff, i just though that i'd get in trouble for reporting something haha.
But yeah, i do understand its needed in the feed to promote discussion and activity.
