    Default Chilean Miners

I just thought i would post about the Chilean miners who are being rescued from being trapped over 600m below ground level.

So far they have rescued 14 out of the 33 miners who were trapped / are still trapped in the mine for 69 days.

They are estimating that they will rescue the last man within the next 30-40 hours time.

Congratulations & the best of luck to all of the people who are connected with the rescue and the continued rescue of the miners still trapped down the mine.

It is an awesome effort and I praise all those involved, a lot thought those guys would die down there and I'm pretty sure they felt the same, it is truly amazing to see this happen.

At least they all stayed active by doing little jobs and didn't just sit there waiting to die and now they know that they are going to be rescued and saved - what an amazing story and the shots on the TV are great as we can see every little detail of what is happening.

Just an update for people who are not watching this on the news or anything ...

16 of the 33 miners have been rescued & the current prediction for the final miner is around 12 midnight tonight.

So just about half way through the rescue mission & it's all still going very smoothly.

I was going to read this post, but then i saw the extremely noobish name and left it..

Anyway, thats all the weak ones out, now they are bringing out the ones they think are stronger. 17th on his way.

And they dug a very thin tunnel to send down little tubs full of food, drinks aswell as things like flags and razors.

They had some already stored down in special areas just in case this happened... also they had tubes which led to and from the surface which allowed small items to be sent to them, so they had daily capsules which gave them food and bottled water.

One of the days they got sent down a projection screen which allowed them to connect to a TV on land which then allowed them to watch films and TV shows. They had films played to the regularly and they even watched a Chilean international football match.

After they were found (after 17 days) they were in full contact with rescuers which meant they were always in contact and could tell them about any problems which may have occurred.

This whole operation has been carried out exceptionally well. There's just so many intricate, moving and proud parts to the story that just make it seem almost fictional in a strange kind of way.

Best wishes to all the miners and their families.
