Repetitive Songs ;)

We're not allowed to play the same song twice in 2 slots but I know chart songs get played very regularly. Most DJs try and play older songs or different genres when they get the chance, but after all we are a radio station for the listeners and we have to play the music they want us to play. It's all about finding the right balance I think.

Sure there was a rule that you're not allowed to play a song by the same artist in an hour eitherr. I do agree it isn't hard for DJs to check whether a song has been previously played or not, and I'm sure there is more requests you could use rather than just the one that requests a song that's already been played. It does get repetitive and boring for the listeners

I try not to...like Duck Sauce, Cee Lo Green, I make people wait...but it's hard cos they spam you >;l

My 90s hour (might turn into 60s/70s/80s/90s/00-05) gives a lot of variety and when I did it I got lots of good feedback.

Your concern is actually quite common. It's not just this site that suffers from the same song being played to the point of becoming a nusiance, it's practically every Habbo fansite. Unfortunately, if the listeners want to hear it, us DJs are practically obligated to play it; maybe not the exact song, but a song by the same artist.

Of course, there is the whole "no two songs by the same artist" and "no same song twice in the show" rules, so the above has to comply with these.

An easy way to achieve your desires is to get into contact with the previous DJ. Sam Broadcaster has a History window which shows exactly what songs were played at any specific time. This log can be backed up and a file saved for reference purposes, so it can actually be used to inform the next DJ what has been played and what hasn't. Just make sure to clear the history after each of your shows.

Regardless, the concept of having an actual tool in the panel that displays a list of songs over the past hour would be great and much easier than the whole history log from Sam BC.

Omg, why isn't this used? This has to be one of the greatest resources I've ever seen. I bet incorporating it into the panel would make its use much more common.

But how would you get your own resource for HxL? That tool is all any DJ needs. Has a huge list of songs (has songs that were played from my show nearly 18 hours ago), most played songs, a graph depicting the listener counts for competitor fansites, and loads more.
