CreeperCraft 24/7 SMP server!

Alright homeslices as many of you are probably aware us crackaz and Niamh at CreeperCraft.co.uk have been planning on getting a Minecraft community set up and a big part of that is having our own SMP (Survival MultiPlayer) servers set up. It was decided right from the start that we weren't going to do this until we could guarantee full 24/7 uptime, and this is now looking to be the case at last.

Ladies, gentlemen, and Graham who's watching from his reinforced steel support chair somewhere, we are now quite proud to announce that saturday is going to mark the opening of our first VPS server!

You will need to be registered on the forum and provide your Minecraft login name on your profile there so that we can match people up and give you build access, this is a precautionary measure to make sure we have some way of knowing who's who rather than giving out total power to everyone and putting all of your creations at risk. There's currently no posting requirement for being on the server but it'd be nice if folks who want to be a part of it do join in so that the whole project can grow as a community - and of course you'll be more clued in to what's going on around the place that way
On behalf of CC management we hope to see you all there, tools in hand ready to start fires building!

So are you making like a replica survival server like otaku or something? Or will it be based via minecraft itself?

i'm very interested btw and will be making an account on the forum promptly.

It is Minecraft it's the full game hosted on a server that we rent, like playing the normal version but online with a community starting afresh and with 24/7 uptime forum is currently down while we upgrade it and make it not such a dark and chunky place (as any current members may remember it to be ) but we'll make sure that the forum's back up with public access before the VPS launch, I'm hoping some time tonight or tomorrow but it depends how quickly we can have it functioning and looking how we want it. As Niamh said, any suggestions anyone has for features and such on the server are most welcome if there's something extra you feel would be good to have!
