Shout out BOX

Why Don't habbox put a shout out box at the top of the forum so like people can Chat catch up and that ??

There are forums that are sufficient. People may stop using spam.

There is no need for one and this has been suggested plenty of times and most people are against them.

Spam is used for that.
There will be abuse wrote on the shout box.
If people are abusing the feature it will not make new members want to stay.

Chippie has basically summed it up, this has come up quite a few times and generally the populace is against it. Chat boxes aren't really needed on the forum, as we have plenty of places where users can interact with one another

I used to love shout out box's but most forums that have had them in the past have removed them, not sure why.

I think for some forums shoutout boxes are fine, however I believe that this is completely not needed on Habbox. We have a tight knit community and we want to encourage posting around the forums. Moderation on these things is also hard and I think it would either be spammed/hardly get used.

We did used to have a chat system down the bottom (which I believe was quite expensive) however it really wasn't used much and overall I just don't think habbox is the sort of community which would require a shoutbox.

I think our core aim is getting the forums more active, and there's always spam for having spam like conversations etc and a chatbox is mainly not wanted by most members as previous feedback has shown.

Nethertheless thanks for the feedback- it's always lovely to hear ideas/suggestions from newer members. In this case however I can't see it happening due to previous experience and the fact that HabboxForum offers plenty of forums to communicate such things and a shoutbox would do more harm than good on a forum like this.

Also shoutboxes do not retain data very well for search engines. So if users were asking normal questions on the shoutbox then if someone searches for a similar question on google, likely chances is that google wont display our forum as a result. I do have an idea for a chatbox but haven't really gotten around to investigating it.
