    Default Bruise that has developed into something else

    I was out doing a bit of boating a couple of weeks ago and I went to climb out of another boat to get into mine and I banged the side of my wrist on something. I didn't hurt when I done it but when I got back to shore it really started throbbing and I ended up with a normal bruise. However it's turned into a bruise with a lump and the bruise has gotten bigger :S Any help +Rep

    Is it it a hard lump ? also if it was really hard impact it could be an underlying fracture or a severe sprain
    this would happen within an hour or 2 of getting the bruise though

    It does still throb even at the smallest touch like my bed covers touching it or if someone walks past me and brisk it then it throbs like hell!

    I was researching this a few nights ago because I have a rather big bruise on my leg and I have no idea how it got there, there's a small lump under mine but it's fading away slowly. Anyway, I found a useful site about lumps under bruises;

    Suffering a Hard Lump Under the Skin After a Bad Bruise

    Most basic bruises are spread out and do not present any remarkable symptoms - that is, anything beyond the expected amount of pain and the telltale skin discoloration. Severe bruises may, from time to time, result in an uncomfortable, hard lump under the skin after a bad bruise. This is known as a hematoma.
    As anyone who has suffered from them knows, hematomas may feel sponge-like, rubbery, hard or lumpy (or some combination of these characteristics). Despite how they feel, hematomas are not typically cause for concern - unless they occur on the head following a head injury. In this case, it's crucial to seek medical attention immediately. (It's important to note that a head hematoma may not occur for several weeks following the head injury, so be mindful of its potential to appear).

    I'm not sure if this works but I've heard that rubbing butter on the bruise helps it to heal faster.

    I would get it checked out. Especially since it's casing so much pain or it's a penis growing or something. Okay serious answer, it could e a strong blood clot.
