Free mailing list scripts? (+REP)

Hey.

I'm after a free script where people can input their email address on your website and it'll be added to a database (or wherever). Then you can send a sort of newsletter to all the email addresses using an online editor, etc.

I've looked around and can't find much but anyone have any suggestions?

mailchimp seems to do what you are after: http://www.mailchimp.com/. They have an API you can use to embed it into a script, or plugins for popular platforms.

This one sounds like it might be what you're looking for, you can style, write and send a newsletter, manage subscribers, manage a blacklist, archives of previous newsletters.
