We have 1 mac in my school which were not allowed to use, I don't know why it's there. Not much money spent? :L I don't get why you need macs for school lol.

My old secondary school did the same with the fences except we had two 'main' gates at either side of the school so it worked out fine. To be honest I don't think what your school is doing is that bad. They're smartening the school up, trying to smarten the students up a little bit more and if you stick to the rules you get treats at the end of the year.
I do agree, and I do generally wear mine fine, but it's just they expect everyone to take in nice and dandy. Also there is still the complete favouritism towards students who badly behave and are allowed things an average student wouldn't.

A fence around the school? But surely you only walk out of that twice a day anyway? Once to come in, once to come out. Coming in the morning won't be too bad because everyone gets in at different times. Walking out of school would be harder as everyone leaves at the same time but it's not impossible.

I doubt they'd waste money without good reason especially with the current climate we're in atm.
Well I think it was to stop smokers going in the bushes, but I honestly don't think they care about going out the gate and through CCTV, I think they mostly do that now anyway.

We have 3 around the eating areas, we get to watch daily updates of the school but they decide to put decent shows on after school.

My school has installed 4 brand new cameras and has installed an ID scanning system into our school to make our security better. We were absolutely fine without them doing this. We've cut almost all extracurricular activities because we're low-funded and all lower schools now have no sports for the students to play after school.

Great job education system, quality effort you're putting out to make us well-rounded citizens of society.

My school introduced some gay uniform where you can wear a blazer a cardigan or a jumper but they're so expensive so it's like 35 quid for a cardi not even joking and then you're only allowed to take it off when the headmaster says which is so stupid because that's like someone telling me when I'm allowed to be hot. It's like something you'd expect in the 1960s

I'm sure the approach to you is not as understandable as your perspective may be different. Everything happens for a reason so the school could explain to you if you are really that concerned of course. Take it easy and I'm sure you'll adapt to these things gradually as they are not your personal problem.

I don't understand the paranoia that has swept schools lately with CCTV, ID systems and electric doors etc - if somebody is going to break into a school building then somebody is going to break into a school building regardless of the CCTV (mask) or doors (crowbar). I think it is as usual, the management of schools thinking they are running something bigger than a school, when in reality they are incharge of a school no matter how many fancy titles they adopt.
