i say you go for more of a normal coloured suit. get a suit with a skinny fit blazer so you can wear the blazer out, and have it for exams and occasions.

lol you won't get it tailored at Next and unless you wanna whip out another couple of hundred you shouldn't expect a tailored suit - not that you need one for prom anyway

It looks nice, I wore something similar before. You should wear a specific coloured tie like from topman instead though us it might be a bit boring otherwise
