This exactly. If that thread was moved to spam it would just turn completely off topic. There is nothing wrong with where that thread is and myself, for one, actually find it quite interesting. There are plenty more than just 5 posts in there that aren't just stating what month their birthday is too. What would be the point of moving that thread to Spam, it isn't spam at all.Because the point of the thread is to discover which months members were born in and collect said information in a poll - something which a lot of forums do. If it was to be moved to spam, discussion would become completely off topic and ruin the thread. As it is, there's no real "spamming" in that thread as most members have only posted once or twice.
You are making a mountain out of a molehill - it is one thread. We are not robots we use our common sense. It is a popular thread. As I said previously you could have simply used the report button.I DO have a complaint, because it has "atracted a majority of replies of just one or two words".
If the rule isn't being enforced on the type of thread it's aimed at then why bother keeping it. It is not your job to decide whether a rule is correct or not but to enforce it, granted, discretion, but NOT on the thread it was intended for.
That is not en-keeping with the spirit of what you quoted, this is intended for where there is a post that violates a rule but does not fit the criteria of what it is preventing. This does violate the rule AND satisfy the criteria of what the rule is trying to prevent.
I also noticed that a whole bunch of moderators enjoyed their:
<day> <month>
Free posts, as a result your opinion is biased and therefore I no longer care of your opinion.
Moderators had clearly seen it.
Super Moderators had clearly seen it.
The forum manager had CLEARLY seen it.
This thread is aimed at general management, not the completely upside down forum department which can't do it's job.
And it is not just one thread, I have brought up this isssue in the past but moderators seem to feel that they shouldn't close 'Post your' threads that they like.

Chippiewill.
Yes of course we are all biased and desperate to get our post count up. You have a complaint about the moderators I suggest you either pm Nicola or actually file a complaint. If it was happening on a regular basis I think you would have a point. That is not en-keeping with the spirit of what you quoted, this is intended for where there is a post that violates a rule but does not fit the criteria of what it is preventing. This does violate the rule AND satisfy the criteria of what the rule is trying to prevent.

It is happening on a regular basis.
You are biased if you posted in that thread without closing it.
I am not going to PM Nicola because she is guilty of the EXACT SAME CRIME.
And this is my complaint, out to the General Management in PUBLIC that this rule should be enforced, and not ignored because moderators don't like it.
Chippiewill.
No, it's not, but I felt with the whole "FACT." thing you were trying to be a bit of a smart arse with me so I felt it my duty to throw one back
Which it isn't
edit:
You'll probably need to post a few more examples as evidence to go with your complaint
And on that note, maybe this thread should be moved to complaints to await a reply from general management? (how ironic)![]()

Examples please? I don't think you will find a lot. Also do you have no basis on which to judgeIt is happening on a regular basis.

1. That moderators don't like the rule
or
2. That they ignore it because they don't like it. I don't think posting in a thread pointless or is a crime though.![]()
What would a moderator stand to gain? I don't see the logic :S
There's a difference in posting threads such as "What month is your Birthday?" and threads such as "What colour are your socks right now?".
