Default TV not recognising VGA input.

I have a Samsung LE19R8 TV. Works fine.

Tried connecting my HTPC to it (Socket 754 Athlon, running an XFX FX5600) with a new VGA cable.
Doesn't even recognise that there's a cable, and PC mode is greyed out.

New cable with the old monitor works fine.

So it must be the TV.

    How can I fix this?

Just googled it, apparently you're not the only one and it's a common problem http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-l...available.html

Try reading this (Not read it myself) might help http://pctvcables.com/blog/?p=13

    Tried everything else.

How would I short pin 10 with a paperclip? I can see how to do it but how would it fit into the VGA port?

Here are the combinations I have tried.

HTPC -> new VGA cable -> TV - nothing recognised
HTPC -> old VGA cable -> Dell monitor - Works fine. When PC is turned off, the monitor screen goes black
HTPC -> new VGA cable -> Dell monitor - works fine when the PC is on. When PC is turned off, the monitor acts as if nothing is connected, and starts doing the Dell Self-Test
Netbook -> old VGA cable -> TV - works flawlessly.
