As society gains more knowledge and the world becomes more adult friendly, I kind of expected this. Anyway if you really think she should stop, then you should tell her parents even if it risks her attitude towards you. I've noticed my brother getting some smoking side effects, the physical aspects and it's really destroying how he looks. His teeth are starting to go brown and he's been smoking for only a couple of years.

    Thumbs up

Theres nothing much that you can do, and to be quite frank i think you should leave her alone, itsher life dyou only get one chance at it- If shes chosen to waste it away, get cancer by 18 & die at about 30 then thats her choice.

Theres nothing 'lucky' about not smoking. People who are stupid enough to smoke sneer on those who dont & likewisewe seer on them, try telling a teacher at school about how your worried?

I agree that the knowledge is being learnt at an early age now, same with technology, for example 12 year olds get like laptops and phones for Christmas? i didn't i got toys and clothes etc lol.

Anyway, you can't do much, she isn't going to stop for you if she has been doing it for so long. May I ask how the hell does she buy them? Surely she doesn't look 16/18?

Also, I have never smoked a cigarette and I do not intend to, and I am glad you feel like that, that you will not give into peer pressure. Some people doesn't really know who or what it effects so maybe explain to her that you are worried about her health etc.

Also, surely one time in high school they will eventually do a class all about the consequences of smoking, drugs, sex etc.
Maybe that will drill it into her head.

^ can't see the problem with having it if it's still in the affordable range and my parents aren't going out of their way to buy me things.

urgh there's this guy in my year that smokes now after he fell out with his friend, so started getting on a different bus and sat near the back with the year 11 chavs. the rest sort of fell into place itself.

so what if they do tbh, it's not effecting YOU if you're so certian you're not going to smoke i can't see the problem - it's when she smokes infront of you tell her to get out
