Can we all please stop saying 'I believe in free speech BUT...' because free speech is absolute or it is not free speech, free speech is about accepting that things may be said that you may find disgusting, vile and distasteful. If you believe in free speech then you believe in exactly that, free speech.

I don't support what they are doing, I find it disgusting at a funeral - but I accept that in a free country there are opinions I may not like. My opinion was the exact same concerning the poppy burning by a group of muslims.

Pah, you know what my opinion is on free speech. It can be distasteful and I may hate it, but it's only really worth something if the person "using" it actually knows a single thing about what they are saying, and don't look like complete hypocrites - not forgetting they're arguments make no sense and change with the wind. Free speech about anti-homosexuals can make sense, such as overactive sex lives as it does appear to be somewhat true in some cultures, so homophobic comments can make sense to a degree - but when you get these imbesiles (the Phelps family), you do question whether they are indeed allowed to use free speech when they don't really seem to know what they are saying. They're basically real life trollers, they just do it for no reason. and when approached they come up with some garbled message that cannot be understood, and when they're pointed out as being hypocrites they speak what can be understood as basic english, but it's still garbled and shows a weak thought process.

Why do people still care about them? What from I've seen it's obvious they're just real life trolls, and highly successful ones too. So the best way to deal with them would be to ignore them instead of giving them attention.

These members of this church sound like morons. I don't particularly care about freedom of speech or the ideologies around it. The families should have been rewarded with more money in the first place, and the appeal should have been rejected.
