Sonic returns in 2011 with Sonic Generations.

A new sonic game was announced today and is called "Sonic Generations". From the trailer below, it certainly looks like it's going to be an interesting game.

Seen the trailer on eurogamer just before coming here to see if it was posted and i was beat lol. Anyway I can't wait for this game, and im glad to see the old sonic look back but in a trailer. Also judging from the trailer we can assume itll be out by the end of the year due to the snowy styled green hill zone

No other information on the game is out yet. However i think it was be somewhat similar to Sonic Colors and Sonic Unleashed.

HOLY CRAP IT'S ORIGINAL SONIC

Not sure how any of you can say it "looks good" when there is nothing in that trailer to imply that I heard it was going to be a modern take on one of the old Sonic games. Old Sonic in 3D looks crap to be honest He only ever looked good in 2D.

Hopefully it will be a decent game. Sonic Colours was frustrating as the gameplay was so slow in my opinion. Sonic never used to jump slowly and with no control. In Sonic Colours you had to take ages planning each jump because he tooks flaming ages getting off the ground. The running was fine, but the jumping and lack of control was infuriating

Shall be buying. Don't think its meant to be a snowy Green Hill Zone. And because of the movies shown in the teaser im 100% it will use the Hedgehog Engine which shall be fun playing older levels on.

Will be a while before we hear any info knowing sega.

Earlier this months Sega had leaked a trailer for an upcoming Sonic game which featured modern sonic rushing through an area that looked like Green Hill Zone then meeting his 1991 counterpart sometime near the end of the trailer. For those that havent seen it here it is:



Now today I have been looking through a website and stumbled across gameplay screenshots and news on the game via this site by clicking here

The plot behind Sonic Generations has not been fully mentioned however it states that and I quote:
"Sonic’s universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power creates ‘time holes’ which pull him and his friends back through time. As a result, he encounters some surprises from his past history including Classic Sonic, Sonic as he was in 1991.”

Now some of you are thinking, Can you play as 1991 Sonic? Well the answer is YES!!! You will be able to play as Classic Sonic or Modern time sonic, each having their own special moves. Classic sonic having Spin dash and spin attack while Modern sonic has Homing attack and Sonic Boost (I assume the boost is similar to Sonic Unleashed's boost). Best still, the game can be played in either 2D or 3D. Heres the link of screenshots

I remember enjoying sonic games and then they all wen't downhill hopefully this will bring the bar up again.
