I just got done watching, I am well happy. Seriously, tears of joy aswell. It was the best match in a LONG LONG time.
I had my alarm on for half 12 and didn't quite wake up so I missed it live plus I know all of the results so a waste of £14.99!
Do you know what pissed me off, The announcers wouldnt shut up about how its been 10 months since John Cena had a world championship and how he has waited so long for this -.-
Get a grip,
1. John cena is champion way to much and it would of done everyone good to keep it off him a little longer
2. 10 months ffs he's had 9 world championships before hand so what if he has another
3. Christian had to wait 13 ******* years before he got his first, i think thats a bigger deal...
Was a very enjoyable and exciting PPV, and thus I've decided to write my first review in a couple of months.
Match 1 - Randy Orton vs. CM Punk (Last Man Standing Match)
Coming into this match I had high expectations that this was going to be something special. In my honest opinion the match between these two at WM27 was a disappointment, and I felt that a gimmick match of this nature would really allow both these superstars to show the talent they have, as I think both have been restricted in past months, Orton especially has become very generic. There were some nice spots here and it was a solid match, but I never really got into it. It just didn't have that cutting edge and at times it was quite slow. But, that being said, both superstars put on a solid performance - I just think they could've given it a bit more. The ending was a bit abrupt and I wish Punk would have got the win, but meh, that's life.

Match 2 - Sheamus (c) vs. Kofi Kingston - United States Championship (Tables Match)
An impromptu US title match made by SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long following a backstage confrontation with the Celtic Warrior. I predicted that this match would be made at the PPV, and as soon as it was I knew that Kofi was gonna win it and take the title back to Raw, which is a shame because I was enjoying Sheamus' reign as champion, and also I am probably one of the biggest Sheamus marks you're likely to meet. I love the guy. Hopefully now this will allow him to enter the main event scene once again where he belongs. Onto the match. It was made a tables match. Right, seriously now - a ladder match and a tables match? Seriously man, it's only been 4 ******* months since the TLC PPV. I really hope they don't have another TLC PPV next year now after this. Anyway, again this was a solid match. Both superstars showed their main traits, in that I mean Sheamus showed his strength and his brutality, meanwhile Kofi showed his athletic ability with a couple of cool spots, most notably when he jumped onto the middle turnbuckle just before he was about to crash through the table. The boom drop from the top to win the match was pretty sweet, too. All in all I enjoyed this match, and it was a nice way to kill some time.

Match 3 - Michael Cole & Jack Swagger vs. Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler (Tag Team Country Whipping Match)
Right, I'm gonna get straight to it - this was a ******* train wreck. Why they've let this feud drag out as long as it has, I don't know. I was prepared to let that go as long as Cole got what was coming to him in this match. Sure JR got a few shots in and got an ankle lock in on both Cole and Swagger (which was awesome), but when it was all said and done it was Cole who picked up the victory for his team after a schoolboy on JR to steal the win. Right... why the **** did that happen? Seriously. I'm just bemused that Lawler & JR didn't win this one. I just want this feud to end so that Swagger can turn face and go on to more important feuds. GOD DAMMIT IT WAS THE ****TEST SCHOOLBOY I'VE EVER SEEN TOO. Right, I'm gonna leave it there as otherwise I'm gonna be ranting for hours. Basically, this was ****e.
Rating: 2/10
Match 4 - Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes (Falls Count Anywhere Match)
This was definitely one of the stronger matches of the evening. We saw some cool spots and they used the gimmick very well. Much better than their Mania match in my opinion, and Cody just continues to improve both in the ring on the mic. Rey Rey once again stepped it up and make Cody look very strong in defeat. Hoping that these two have one more match at Over The Limit to end the feud, maybe an I Quit Match or something like that. But yeah, very enjoyable match.

Match 5 - Layla vs. Michelle McCool (No DQ Match - Loser Leaves WWE
Surprisingly I actually quite enjoyed this match. Both divas told the story of their frustration well and it made for a very watchable match. Kind of annoyed me slightly seeing as I planned on making my noodles during this match and going for a cig break, but the eventual Tag Team match sorted all that out. Layla got the win here as expected as it was being reported that McCool was leaving, and we finally get the long awaited debut of Awesome Kong (well, Kharma as she's being called in WWE). She's ******* terrifying, seriously. Loved the way she just destroyed McCool and that little backstage with all of the other divas looking on at their eventual fate was brilliant. For the match itself, it was better than expected.

Match 6 - Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio - World Heavyweight Championship (Ladder Match)
Match of the night. Simple as that. I can't quite put into words how happy I am that Christian finally did it, that he finally won the World Championship in the WWE. This was a fantastic match where both of these superstars gave their all and showed why they are two of the top stars in the company right now. They both put everything they have into the match and I have no higher praise for them both. The ending was brilliant, with Edge being there to witness his best friend of over 20 years finally capture the World Heavyweight Championship. Tears of joy were rolling down my cheek, and I'm not ashamed to admit that. You could see the sheer joy and ecstasy on the face of Christian as he un-hooked that championship belt. He's finally climbed the ladder (no pun intended) to the top of the mountain. There were too many epic spots to mention in this match, so all I'm gonna say it, well done Christian - you deserve it. Is a perfect 10/10 too much? **** it, that's what I'm gonna give it because that's what Captain Charisma deserves. I WILL ALWAYS BE A PEEP.
Rating: 10/10
Match 7 - Big Show & Kane (c) vs. Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson (The Corre) - Tag Team Championship (Lumberjack Match)
I went for a cig and when I came back I just spent the remainder of the match trying to name the all of the lumberjobbers. **** it, did Show & Kane even win this match? I can't even remember. I think they did. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they did. Let's go with that.
Rating: 4/10
Match 8 - The Miz (c) vs. John Cena vs. John Morrison - WWE Championship (Triple Threat Steel Cage Match)
A decent match, however the crowd was pretty dead at times. I never really got into it, and that shouldn't happen in a match of this magnitude. I guess it was because there wasn't that much of a build to this match, especially with Morrison - so I didn't really have very high expectations. The Starship Pain off the top of the cage was pretty beast, and Truth's interference was alright as it livened things up a bit, even if it did go on for a bit longer than I would've preferred. Cena wins, giving him something to do for the year before his confrontation with Rocky. I don't think their match at WM28 NEEDS to be for the WWE title, because it isn't about that. This is lazy booking by the WWE as it shows they aren't able to come up with soemthing creative for Cena to do. Meh. A bit pissed off that Miz lost the title, but I've got a weird feeling he'll win it back at Over The Limit - hopefully he does.
Rating - 7/10
Verdict
A very enjoyable PPV, with 3 new champions. It didn't totally live up to it's potential as there were definitely parts of the PPV that I'd change, but all in all it created some good spots and the crowd was pretty hot throughout the night, apart from the odd match or two - and it also gave me a moment that I'll never forget in Christian winning his first World title in the WWE. Brilliant.
Overall Event Rating: 8/10
If you have any questions/queries about my review, then let me know. It's a bit rough as I'm kinda tired, but I felt obliged to whack out a review for this one.
WrestleMania XXVIII
The match the world has been waiting for..
I think John Cena/Rock mentioned something that their match at WM28 will be for the WWE Championship, I hope to god that Cena doesn't hold the Championship till that time.
Just watched the WHC Ladder Match. It was very good with a lot of emotion showed. Anyone see the pool of blood from Brodus Clay?
The only thing that puts me off of Christian is his theme song. It takes the excitement out of the whole idea of him being World Heavyweight Champion. Edge's theme song had an upbeat roar, a theme song that gave goosebumps, like The Undertaker's, although that's on a whole different level.
Happy that Christian is Champion, though, he's walked a very long road to that moment.
Christian/Rio was the best match of the show, but to call it a perfect match would be a bit of an exaggeration. I'd be hard pressed to give it four stars.
Nice celebration on Raw for The Rock.
His birthday present package was one to remember.
For **** sake, Chrisitan lost the WHC to randy orton on smackdown -.- but apparantley it was an amazing match.
Can't wait to watch Smackdown. A shame that his reign lasted for two days. The fans supposedly went nuts after Orton won. For people who don't read the taping results and they watch the broadcast on Friday night, they will be amazed at the outcome. Very rare that title's change hands on SD especially the WHC.
Interesting to note that Edge has teamed up with both of these guys in the past and it could be part of a storyline where he turns on one further down the line, I don't know. Will Edge be a regular in WWE like in a managing role and not wrestling, or do you think that's the last we've seen from him after his emotional moment with Christian at ET?
