We would never expect Nicola or any manager for that matter to go to such extraordinary lengths to come up with a name for something. I think that's rather silly and doesn't reflect upon anyone's management skills at all. We are more focused on how well this competition is run and as I previously said, how well kept the communication is between Nicola and the winners. As I said before if you disagree with the name then disagree with it, but that's just a matter of opinion and you cannot derive further valid speculations from something as simple as a name.

I don't think the entire exercise is pointless if people are involving themselves with it. It's too bad you can't participate in the party elements like you could last year and if that's something a lot of people miss then it's something we can consider for the future.

As for the prize it's a Forum competition and the prize is 60 reputation each and 3 months of a unique paid subscription on the forum each on the forum. Contrary to popular belief Habbox does not have vaults of Habbo gold so I think throne prizes might be overshooting it abit (believe me if we had 3 extra thrones as a prize for this we would be using them but I don't think anyone has access to that sort of funds). I honestly don't see the problem with the VIP and reputation being the prize. A lot of members pay real money for VIP and 3 free months times 3 for each winner of it is a pretty sweet deal especially with the reputation. And so that is the actually "prize" sortospeak and you are right in saying the communication with the forum manager is a privilege. A privilege cannot be a prize but the opportunity to access the privilege is a prize. Regardless too, deliberating over such a small technicality is pointless. What you receive if you are one of the three winners is explained very clearly in the announcement.

If it is reluctant and makes me terribly out of touch to form my own opinions (and actually I've even agreed with you at certain parts) then I am amazed we even got as far as to post the competition. It is completely absurd to throw around accusations of being "out of touch" willy nilly like you are. If you wish to discuss the details retaining to the competition then discuss them. Accusing everyone of being out of touch because you don't like the 5 and not 10 word name of something or because someone doesn't agree with you 100% is just nonsense
I honestly do believe it is the case, the fact a ridiculous name for a campaign has been allowed without being flagged up shows a lack of judgement and poor communication with users, therefore "out of touch" with the users.

But anyway I'm glad we've came to some sort of agreement, you could of just initially replied to my original post by conceding "The name could be better" and how you hope things will be different this time and that the council will be listened to and that would be that, but instead you chose to go down to the route of a long-winded argument. If you can say things with less words it's always better to. Anyway.

Being the only person left who was behind the planning and execution of last years election I can clear up a few of the misconceptions in this thread, I will have to be quick as I am revising and my internet connection is awful at the moment.

Someone mentioned the teams being smaller than last year, actually they are the same size - 3 official team members. When this plan was being discussed it was discussed of having more team members, however it simply wasn't plausible to do this when it came down to prizes (this is the same reason teams were restricted last year). Those that don't want to take part by being on a team can support a team, just like they did last year.

The prize is exactly the same as it was last year, infact I think there are more reputation points involved this year, as it's a forum competition the prize is based on the forum as the whole competition is based on using the forum.

Last year the election was heavily criticised for the winners not actually getting anything in terms of what they were elected for, infact last year there was no prize other than VIP and rep, we had to change this to say we may implement some ideas. I agree with those who say "well you could just post in feedback anyway" and this is true, however as this is one of the highly criticised areas of last year I think it's a good way of countering the complaints on the opposite side of the argument - in reality the prize for this is 3 months special VIP and rep, you get the bonus of being able to contribute to member of the month (which I think is pretty generous really, a lot of people grumble about how this is decided) and the "direct contact" with Forum Management is just added - you've all got direct contact with the Forum Manager and you all know that you've got the feedback forum and the PM system, but perhaps this could mean that if there was a popular idea in feedback for a particular section of the forum the person who wins can push the forum manager to get it through.

The name is awful, I agree Jordy however you've only suggested "Habbox Election" in it's place - which doesn't sum up the principle of the competition, if anybody has any better ideas it would only take 2 seconds to change come graphics - however I believe you will hit the same brick wall David and myself did when Nicola approached us with the idea.

I think it was quite clever to try the "specific forum" route this year rather than the whole forum last year, number one if we did it'd only be criticised for doing the same thing twice but also for years and years HabboxForum has been cliquey and I don't think this will ever change, this competition approaches these cliques to draw them out of their forums to show why they enjoy using HabboxForum - although if I'm wrong on this matter and the majority of feedback agrees, perhaps simply using the same style as last year might be better? I would always say yes to trying something new over bringing back something old. A benefit is it gives the newer/younger members a chance too, last year the election was won by 3 long standing members, obviously newer members are likely to try and represent sections like Habbo and they will have more of a chance due to most of our older members being over in General & Tech.

There are some really good plans for the 'campaign' week of this election utilising other Habbox Departments such as the Help Desk and HabboxLive - it should be much more interactive than last year from what I can tell if participants are as enthusiastic.

So, who's forming teams? I've heard things going round and round but not heard anything concrete yet If you're looking for team members etc you can also post here

I don't like this, you are essentially undermining Feedback and basically saying that one set of individual's ideas are better because they were elected.

This idea wasn't thought through and is clearly only there so that the prizes had some padding.

Anything that improves communication is fine by for me. As far as the Habbox Council was concerned it was a great idea with really good intentions however the goal posts were shifted so much by the then GM that it became completely impotent and instead of contributing feedback and representing the members all of a sudden it became a 'ideas' committee and nothing else. I don't think the name matters that much - it is just a garnish and this is not an L'oreal. Personally I feel it is a great initiative and kudos goes to those who thought it up. It should be very interesting and also a lot of fun for all those involved. Also I don't think Feedback will be closed during the 6 months.
