If you liked the Bebop film then just wait until you watch the series! Unless of course you have already. You should check out Sword of the Stranger and Ghost in the Shell, too. Both essential anime films and of course everything from Satoshi Kon and most of Miyazaki's works and Death Note is the essential series.

I've seen all of those recommendations apart from everything Satoshi Kon has done, I've only seen Paprika. It was the first time I'd seen Akira last night, but it's probably the fiftieth time I've seen the Cowboy Bebop film.

Ooh, from the sound of your post I thought you were new to anime. Nice to have another veteran around these parts. :8

PA. I'm afraid that anime is my passion! Do you have a personal favourite?

My top ten would look something like this...

    1. Gintama
    2. Death Note
    3. Hajime no Ippo
    4. Neon Genesis Evangelion
    5. Nodame Cantabile
    6. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
    7. Baccano!
    8. Nana
    9. Samurai Champloo
    10. Cowboy Bebop / Trigun / Mushishi

My top five haven't changed in about two years and I can safely say Gintama is my definite favourite and Death Note follows closely behind. As for movies...

    1. Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance
    2. Redline
    3. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
    4. Sword of the Stranger
    5. Millennium Actress
    6. The End of Evangelion
    7. Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone
    8. Mind Game
    9. Tokyo Godfathers
    10. Summer Wars

Kind of a rough list, not too sure on the order of some but they're definitely my top ten.

    What about you?

Have you seen Baccano? You should totally check it out, it's about as hardcore as it gets.

Yeah, can't wait for next week! Maybe I could have ranked One Piece higher, as I've been watching it weekly for years now.

You should all watch One Outs! I watched it there in November and forgot to say. Awesome series. Ending was a bit abrupt but good none the less. Very tactical, bit like Death Note only no death with sports.
