Just saying , hopefully it didn't sound rude!
As I said Grig, there was no harm in trying! We broke no rules and remember that so many of the older users may have felt this could've been good and they may have wanted to use it in order to get their voices heard!

I think if Habbo had specifically asked us to take it down then that isn't very fair as it takes away our right to speak out.

The new font looks awful, not sure why they implemented it when Habbo isn't really something you use "at higher resolutions", considering how zoomed out rooms will be difficult to navigate with precision if this was the case :/ I guess if they want to go with a cheap, blurry font that moves itself away from the crisp, sharpness of the Habbo World then fair do. Habbo are afterall pretty strange.

Although, one/two years down the line you probably would be moaning how bad the volter font looks on your new higher resolution comp :p. I miss it myself, and for me Habbo actually will never be the same since when I started playing back in 02/03, with many silly updates, merging etc. But hey ho, it's a business and they're priority is to make money!

Hello, sorry I couldn't reply sooner.

I removed the petition personally for several reasons:
    1) It was abusable - we saw in a feedback thread earlier that people had replied posing as Habbo Staff, this could get us into a lot of trouble with Sulake

So you're probably thinking... why not make it un-abusable?

That's my reason 2) When this was released we were unaware that Puhekepla had already held a petition on this ground and recieved a response from Sulake

Sulake's response is valid and I feel it seems like something they didn't want to do, but had to do to keep up with the development of the field. It's quite clear it wouldn't be changing so a petition would have been a useless exercise.

It was avoidable it's called "getting your finger out and making changes to Volter to reflect the change in resolution sizes" e.g. make the current volter font size "1" and then make other sizes called size "2" and "3", and then have an "Accessibility" area in the bottom left of the client that can be clicked and/or highlighted to allow a user to adjust the size as they see fit. It's not rocket science, but I guess they're too lazy to edit their font

Fair enough, bit of a shame but hey petitions don't promise anything

First off so someone doesn't get the wrong impression, the petition was intended to be abit of good natured fun. Matt Garner and I actually came up with the idea one night casually talking to eachother and infact we came up with the idea lightly - not with the intention of turning anti-Sulake by any means. Infact I've never seen such devotion to software engineering towards the Habbo client on Sulake's part than I do now and that's truly fantastic! We cleared the idea with Oli and I coded into the night releasing the protest page in the early hours of the morning.

Based upon how little the petition was initially advertised (I created a Habbox Today image in Paint and improperly made a forum notice day(s) after) we got one hell of a lot of people sign the petition. I have no doubt in my mind that if we kept it up, even encouraged a DJ or two to mention it on air that we could of surpassed Puhekepla's 500 signatures easily. Even though you could say Sulake wouldn't of reverted the font in light of the protest, I think the fact that so many people participated is in layman's terms really cool and reflects really well upon Habbox as a community and as a fansite. I think a thank you is in order to everyone who signed our petition and anyone who encouraged others to sign it or even gave feedback towards it. Positive or negative, most every opinion I read about it was well presented. So thanks !
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
