Wait, are moderators removing harmless content again? I was always of the impression that videos posted with a spoiler mentioning filtered content are fine IF there is a warning provided. It's in the rules dammit - granted the rules have been edited again for no reason :/

Agreed. I thought rudeness from moderators and staff left when Hecktix quit - he was always one to offend members when he couldn't give appropriate feedback. Telling a member to not throw their toys out of their pram is appauling behaviour - you've lost quite a lot of respect for that

No no no, they were saying how they think the rule should be changed so they don't have to put the spoiler and warning.

Sounds like a pretty good idea if David can wrap up something that could make it possible.

Ah I see. Speaking of videos, is there any point spoilering them seeing as videos do not play automatically? A warning is helpful, although if it's just one swear word it seems silly giving him an official warning if it wasn't done intentionally. It's not like any grannies or 2 year olds were hurt in the posting of such a video

There could be some grannies out there who would do such a thing! I see your point even if it is one swear word but it's better to just have them under a spoiler and if anyone didn't want to see it due to the inappropriate language then they are aware of it, whereas if there wasn't a spoiler and a warning and they play it then yeah. So it's always nice to have the warning.

Plus the title of the video could also contain the swearing, but if we go with what Myke and davage. suggested than it wouldn't be a problem no more. (That's if Scott agrees and David can do it)

Normally you get a warning after a few times a bit like an infraction I think or maybe not I dunno, either way an official pm is unnecessary, ask the person to fix it in a casual manner through vm or something, even in the pms about spoilers it is just too formal and makes me feel like I commited crime of the century. For example instead of pming me shar messaged me on msn saying could I add a spoiler which I thought was friendlier than a official pm.

I've spoke to David about it and if posibble we're going to have it so if any video is posted it already contains a warning that it could have swearing etc. in but not be put in a spoiler because I think it'd be silly to put every video that's posted in a spoiler :p

I used to PM people quietly when I was a mod on here back when I moderated the graphics forum - it's far more pleasing than sending someone a wannabe robotic response - it's a fansite forum afterall, not the Business Leader's Discussion Forums.

Wouldn't the video need to be playing in order for them to see the inappropriate language? Videos do not play by default and if people hit the play button then we should assume they want to watch it and do so at their own risk. If the title has swearing then obviously a spoiler is needed - just advise members when they've forgotten to do so, or make them aware that the spoiler rule applies. It's better than getting a robotic response from a person who clearly wants to be human, but has to obey-the-systems!

I agree, I honestly think if there was a button just under the "paste video url" saying "Tick this box if this is mild 18+ content etc" it's not that I'm lazy I just forget and seeing that underneath wouldn't only save me time but would help me remember I need to had spoilers.

Well yes the video would need to be played for the user to see or hear such language. But it's still ideal for a warning and a spoiler to be placed so if the user doesn't want to at any time hear that language than they don't have to and then they are aware it contains the bad language due to the warning and spoiler the video has. I think If the new idea gets implemented than there won't be a problem with users being told off for "forgetting to add a spoiler", although that depends on how it gets added into it.

The suggestion about the tick box sounds ideal to be honest.
