w3schools.com is quite good in my opinion and you may be able to learn some from there

Exactly the place I'm on for the basics, but it doesn't provide a great depth I don't feel

Read it all, practice it all, click 'Next Chapter', repeat.

w3schools is the best place, it's the most in-depth thing you need.
When you've completed the stuff there, start looking at code and seeing what it does.
