    Default Antisocial.

Bar going out for a drink about 1-2 times a week, I have been very anti-social this summer. I guess that will change when I go on holiday here on the 18th but I have no motivation to go out, there really is nothing to do and the weather here has been on and off. Rains one day, sunny the next. Even then I have no motivation to go out during the day and if I do go out during the night as I said before it's usually to go to a club with a few mates or a bar for a few pints. Anyone else like this?

no need to be such a **** matt
anyway i actually reply to like all your threads and i don't even like you that much but here it goes

i get the same feeling and if you talk to niamh right now he'll tell you how annoying i am about it, especially after being on my holiday being surrounded by people 24/7 it sucks when you get home and you actually have to make a big effort to organise plans or get a bus to see somebody
but thats just how it is, get a job maybe? thats what i'm doing and you just gotta make plans in advance, my best friends that live on my street are away so the only ones i can see are like a 20 minute bus ride and like a 10 minute walk but it's better than staying at home doing nothing

and i know it rains and stuff which sucks so you can't just chill in a park or something but you can go to each others houses and do what you'd normally do on your own but just... with a friend, less lonely.... you just have to make the effort with someone and more than likely they'll invite you to do something after
you could also do stuff around the house you need to get done like for me i'm gonna paint my room, you could work out.... etc etc
staying home is really getting me down so your best bet is to just stop being lazy and try motivate yourself to go out, you're not gonna be young forever
you wont have this much free time again

If you dont wanna go out, and have no motivation, why bother? If it's not something you enjoy, then why FORCE yourself to do it when it's not benefitting you in any way? You're still going out a couple times a week which is what i would consider a normal amount, and so you're not being a social recluse. I was saying this to tara earlier, i actually felt sorry for her because she was going nuts being in the house and not being able to go out. Whilst usually someone like me, who is usually inside most days after college, is the one who is felt sorry for. Honestly im not bothered whether im partying or if im sitting inside playing starcraft, both are equally fun and sometimes im having more fun chatting to people on skype and just chilling inside. If you're enjoying what you're doing then who cares where you are and who you're with.

i'm the exact same, while some people can't stand being home (ie my brother), i can't stand going out more than one day in a row. i can spend 2 days maximum with someone before they drive me crazy. i go out maybe twice a month during college but i see most my friends while there anyway. i thought for this summer i'd make more effort but there's really no point because all we ever do is get drunk and that gets boring and expensive after a while. some may think summer is the perfect opportunity to do everything they want to which they couldn't while in college/school/uni which is fine but for me it's an excuse to catch up with all my manga/dramas and not feel guilty about procrastinating!! i really don't care whether people think it's sad if i enjoy it more than going out, it's not a case of 'wasting my holidays' if i'm doing what i couldn't during college. the only problem is that if all my friends go out together, which is very rare as it's only usually a few of us at a time, then i don't like it incase they stop inviting me ;l all my friend's have a job except me (not gonna get one lol) so they have more money and less time, i agree with tara that if you want to become more sociable then it's a good idea to get one but if you don't then like niamh said, why bother? if you want to play xbox then play xbox, if you want to go out then go out.

Thanks for the replies. I have a job already but it involves staying inside most of the day. I guess I'll just do what I have fun with and the majority of the time that is sitting inside doing things :p

I'm very antisocial lol. I like to put a positive spin on it though and say independent

Nothing wrong with just going down to the local pub for a few pints with friends, maybe a bit of pool. Personally, not a fan of this idea that you have to go out all the time to be seen as sociable! It's okay to have some winding-down time, some me-time.

Well what else could I say when I didn't have time to put some paragraph, it's essentially on the same lines as your post minus the talking about myself bit.

I have a full time job - apart from that I don't do much. You're not alone.
